      ... they were everywhere.
On the way south we stopped briefly at Lake Pleasant for a look around, then headed into Phoenix. Surprise, Arizona is in the northwest corner of the huge Phoenix area and we accepted an invitation to spend the night with a Muscatine High School friend from 47+ years ago - Cheryl Gilmore Kobel and her husband Mike. Bertha (our GPS...remember?) skillfully guided us closely to the Kobel's. Cheryl had sent a ...

Lois had just checked their website before we left, so she stamped her little foot and they said we could get into any other movie free. So we went to "Her" (about a guy who falls in love with his computer voice). We were in the theatre with a dozen or so seniors who had come for a show about Mr. Disney and Mary Poppins. Instead they were watching a show with profanity ...

... truck in the direction of Phoenix, Arizona area and my brother Gil & sister-in-law Lois' winter house rental in Surprise, Arizona. We got an early start, but that was quickly eaten away when we noticed that the dust cap on one of the trailer wheel axles had fallen off (presumably having not been put on tight enough when we had the bearings packed just before leaving Regina). So we puttered around Albuquerque area for an hour looking for a trailer or ...
