    ... and got to use the charcoal grill for the first time.

    No fire pit so started a campfire right on the ground. Placed wood directly on hot charcoal leftover from cooking. Had fire in seconds.


    Left Virginia and drove 500 miles to Kentucky.

    ... somewhat nicely kept up given that there wasn't much going on there. It's adjacent to Norfolk, a giant military city.

  • Norfolk, home to the east coast's largest Navy fleet, was insane - both traffic wise and people-wise. Couldn't get near the base of course, so I headed to Virginia Beach for the night, 20 minutes away.

    A trip to Virginia is apparently not complete without visiting Virginia Beach, a popular tourist spot about 2 hours away from the Michaels'. Beth and I packed snacks and sunscreen, towels, books and sunnies and set off for a day at the beach. It was the same direction as Williamsburg, so the road was starting to look familiar.     Earlier this summer me and Joe went on a cruise with my family and we met some amazing people. When we got back we missed them so much, we had to see them again! We visited Chesapeake to see Dipan, Joel and Kristina. We made it down on a Monday morning after spending a night in RVA. We had been unsuccessful until then in all our efforts to rid ourselves of that cute little burden and were resigned to the idea of renting a flatbed trailer to haul it to a friends house today where it could be sold at his leisure.
