... off the beaten path to Promontory Utah. That is where the "golden spike" was used to connect the West and East by rail. You should have heard my car then...everyone else could. That didn't stop me ... I returned to the freeway via a 30 mile country road and then onto Twin Falls where the noise was too great and my common sense kicked in.
... trust the two directions to be too close together (or they are just trying to use up some space). There is sometimes 100's of metres and\or a valley in-between the two.
We went thorugh some road works as well that was interesting. Instead of have temp traffic lights at each end like in the UK there are men standong at each end holding placards saying stop on one side and slow on the other. This ...
... valleys were seldom broken up by green agriculture and off in the violet distance, broken looking bluffs beckoned. Going along the highway into Twin Falls, the road became a bridge over a deep gorge containing a small valley cut by the Snake River. it was so far down below, it looked like a miniature landscape. Fascinating terrain here in south idaho.
Twin Falls, Idaho, United States journal70Woke early to finishe packing while listening to the lovely sounds of Deanna playing hymns on her grand piano. Had a beautiful drive day--cloudy with a few showers. Stopped in Cheyenne to split a Subway sandwich, then on to Twin Falls where we stayed at a brand-new Hilton Garden Inn (only 2 months old) directly overlooking the Snake River Gorge. We gassed up at the Costco nearby, then drove to ...
Twin Falls, Idaho, United States lisajagminWell decided to head west through Idaho instead of south to Salt Lake City to go see Crater Lake. Driving through Idaho was a bit frustrating at times. I think there is more road construction going on here then anywere else, and the worst part is I came to an intersection claiming one road was closed and the other was the detour but the opposite was true. Perhaps I misread the sign but I don't think so, so I ended up having the ...
Twin Falls, Idaho, United States cmbuchholz... to Victor, ID - right next to the Tetons and we'll do Yellowstone - but, right now, this is the place to visit. I also had to drive the RV back from the falls - and we are still in one piece!!!!!
Just finished round of mini golf that came with the stay - it was fun, and now the grils are getting ready for another visit to the pool!
Check out these pictures - they don't do justice! Also, can somebody tell me what this strange creature is? It looks like fat squirrel with thin tail?
We were awake around 0500 but did not get up until about 0530. We got ourselves ready and all the stuff back in the truck. Then we sat down with the kids and had a nice visit while we all ate breakfast and had some coffee.
We got away at 0700 and soon we were headed east on I-84. I never get tired of that drive along the Columbia River although I prefer SR-14 on the Washington side as it is more picturesque and besides you go through lots of ...

After portaging and hitting four more Class IV rapids and also so pretty waterfalls on the way, we made it to the end, which is a lake right above Twin Falls. There is a dam right there at Twin Falls, so now instead of two waterfalls it's just one because the dam blocked one off. Anyway the wind was blowing upwind and was really strong, and with the flat water rowing was so difficult. The other rafts were already quite a bit ahead of us. I rowed ...
... went for a drive to check out the Twin Falls themselves, which werent too exciting as there wasnt much water going over them. From there I went out to dinner to a nearby Applebees restaurant. I had a couple of beers after dinner before heading back to the hotel to crash for the night.
Twin Falls, Idaho, United States maccasworldtour... felt like I was in a loggers' camp. The cooking area was on one side of the room and you could see all the action. The special I ordered was 6 big sausage, 3 eggs, 2 toast and hash browns with coffee for $3.50. And there were two things that amazed me. How much was piled on my plate for that amount, (I think he added pancakes too), and how everything was done at the same time ...
