        The Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ in Groom, Texas was an awesome, heartwarming experience. Starting with the 190 foot Cross that could be seen for miles, down to the life size bronze sculptures depicting The Crucifixion of Christ was an unbelievably humbling experience. Truly a work of love.

        We stopped and camped at Lake McClellan Recreation area located in the McClellan Creek National Grasslands area in Groom Texas. Yet another dry lake and the rivers are dry. There was one local family camping here having a family reunion. The rest of the park was completely empty.

        ... At the intersection of I-40 and F.M. 295, just west of Groom.The cross is encircled by the fourteen stations of the cross. There are also statues of the Last Supper (missing some of the disciples) and the three crosses at Golgotha.
