We stayed two nights in North Bay and with the points we had were able to stay here the second night for money plus points. It is a nice comfortable hotel though the beds are too hard for us. We did a load of laundry which cost $6 incl. soap and they had a nice facility for that. The shower was OK and the room clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful in finding places to go see and to eat at.

Nice large room, excellent pillows. Kitchenette in room for heating things on the stove. Great location, walkable to everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone

Back from Gaspe, through Quebec (without meeting any thieving frog hoteliers this time) and Montreal (where the people tend to be nicer) and up to North Bay.

Lots of trees. Lots of roadkill on the tree-lined highways. At least one dead Moose ... which you really want to avoid hitting in a standard car, as their legs are so long that it means that, unlike a deer (even a ...

On Monday 6/30 we crossed into Canada in Sault Ste Marie. It was an easy boarder crossing and we were asked the standard questions. So off we drive into Canada, our destination Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. It was our longest driving day, 302 miles, you must remember the roads are a little rough and the highest speed limit of the day was 62 mph. So it takes a lot longer to drive anywhere. I had to ...

Once the car was rinsed off a bit, we headed back to the hotel to see Frederick. We asked if Frederick was hungry (but he said he was not). After all, Joanne had packed him a lunch with plenty of food to last him the whole day and beyond....

For the rest of the night, we spent time with Frederick talking and watching tv.

Fiona and I also checked out the information centre that is right across the road as well. At the info centre is also the Dionne Quints Museum. I had been at the museum around 20 years ago and the outside of the house still looked ...

... up across bridge , no Nexus line. Drove to Sudbury, saw the Big Nickel and drove on to Sturgeon Falls just west of North Bay and got room at Comfort Inn at 9 pm. When we checked in the desk clerk commented that she had other people staying here with the same postal code. Went down to get luggage and ran into our neighbor who lives just behind us. He had just flown here on business for couple days, so we spent evening together catching up. What's the chance of ...
