So, after the rain storm that found the leaks in the windshield and the dust storm that lightly breaded us, we made the border. An hour in a half in the beetle oven and we were over! Needless to say the pool felt pretty good!

This park has an island rookery of it's own! Not on the scale of
High Island, but a rookery all the same! It provides safe roost to
hundreds of Cattle, Snowy and Great Egrets as well as Double-crested
Cormorants, Little Blue and Ti-colored Herons. The Cattle Egrets are
in full breed plumage and I will be trying to get a photo of this
