We stayed at Bonnie and Sal's on Saturday and Sunday night. We had a great time, and hope that they will come to Michigan this summer. Bonnie is still the same, we laughed a lot. Salvador is a lot of fun, we drank beer and talked a bunch. They have such a nice house, Salvador has done a lot of work on it.
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States ironworker025... 353;těvníci asi taky chtějí zhlédnout západ slunce za bílý vršky.

Až takový teplo tu není, ale triko a pláťáky bohatě stačí. Parkujeme Borise a hned před ním se zouváme. Vyzbrojeni igelitkama ze supermarketů a foťákama vyrážíme zdolat první dunu. Kdesi před náma slyšíme pištící děcka. Asi už „sáňkujou“ po kopcích. Hned při první příležitosti ...
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States r-e-m... roads and sand is piled up on the side. It looked just like a fresh snowfall had been plowed. And once you get back in to the dunes, all you see is white. I guess if you have never seen snow it wouldn't have the same effect on you as it did on me. I felt like I was in a big snow field and as long as I was in my car I was cold. Stupid right, what tricks your mind can play on you. But the ...
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States bhalik1129Journée chaude et occupée.

Première visite à Three Rivers Petroglyph Site.
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States claire-michelToday I got my passport at the post office,it took us an hour to sign everything, the lady said in two weeks it would come but I got lucky and got it a week earlier,so mom worked another week then we started are trip first we went to Tuscon then California and then up to the mountains, any way it was fun but not fun getting pushed in with all the luggage next to me and almost hitting me in the head (we were going to Canada but we didn't have time).
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States patrick234... the largest gypsum dune field in the world, is a one-hour drive northeast of Las Cruces. John did a solo hike in White Sands one afternoon and brought back amazing pictures (posted herewith). He was ill when he returned (too much heat, altitude and exertion), but responded to rest, hydration and food. John says that the sands appear grey in the photos due to underexposure. In actuality, the sand is blindingly white.
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States kellyjohn... to finally have the opportunity to experience the mighty Rio Grande where outlaws crossed into Mexico to get away from the lawmen and all opportunities were east (or west) of the Rio Grande. Well, I'm afraid we were pretty disappointed. First, the motto of the state is "New Mexico, Land of Enchantment". What kind of a name is that for a state that housed rustlers and outlaws and famous sheriffs? Secondly, we drove to the edge of the Rio Grande, looked across and low ...
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States jimcabay... know if that was for real or just put up as a photo-op for gringos. We then cruised on into Las Cruces to the Hacienda RV Resort. It seems like every RV place is now a "resort" but this one actually lives up to its name with nice sites, club house, spa, exercise room, etc. We got set up and then did a provisioning run before going to dinner at La ...
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States pfl_guy... to the guide and we start hearing thunder getting really close to us. The guide looked a little wary of the skies, so we started running back down the moutain. The skies were all dark and thunder was all around us. It was getting a little scary. We barely make it back to the car all huffing and puffing and get out and start driving all over again for 2.5 hours back to the Fwy. As we were driving to Las Cruces, NM, it was pitch dark and there was ...
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States irassman... was excellent, The morning's weather was perfect, but when we left the café and resumed riding, we were faced with a strong, 30 mph headwind which frustrated our efforts and became a constant adversary. As we were leaving town, Barb joined the group. Di and I soon outdistanced the others, but had to stop about ten miles down the road at a Border Patrol Station to use their restroom. While we were there, Sherri, Judy, and Barb rode by. I decided we needed to catch them so ...
