They're probably as healthy as anything we would get from the fast food joints that surrounded the motel, Taco Bell, Burger King, Denny's etc. The microwave meals are also a bit cheaper too, and we need to save a few pennies (or cents) for some of the expensive activities we'll be doing later in the trip.

We also went to a bank, a drive through bank of course, but we couldn't bring ourselves to drive up to an ...

... is right outside of the everglades. We had intended to spend the night at the Wal-Mart there but the area was a little sketchy looking and I read bad reviews about staying at that particular Wal-Mart. There was no camping nearby but there was a highly rated Hostel that allowed campervans to park in their lot and use their facilities so we drove there. It was a seriously amazing hostel with a huge kitchen, a tree house, ...

... to fire up the GPS we bought from home(thanks Ross) that I uploaded US maps on to, with us both crossing our fingers it worked as Alamo never gave us any maps. We headed off in the general direction we knew we had to go, back over the bridge to the mainland. We also needed to find petrol as the car only came with a quarter of a tank so that means we only take it back with a quarter of a tank. The gps took a little longer to find the satellites ...

... to be out of the swamp. I got to the marina and visitor centre at flamingo and had a look around. Really, it reminds me of Moreton bay, the muddy windy areas of Moreton bay. I go to the visitors centre and grab a map, I really wanted to hike. I had heard a man in the visitors centre mention a boat ride through the park. I asked the Park Ranger about the boat tour too, she said it was booked down in the marina. I went and enquired, the last one was in ...

... I left him to get his watch band shortened to fit properly... it is a lovely watch but it's very fandangled with buttons and lots of dials and I think you need a licence to drive it! After dinner we walked up the stairs into Dazzles and caught a couple of songs before the band finished. Rodd and Tim went to bed at a fairly reasonable hour but Heather and I ended up once again sitting drink up on the top deck... a lovely way to end a fantastic cruise.
