Waking up in London was both happy and sad. Happy, because we are going home to see our girls and jump back into our life! Sad, because it was so wonderful to have two weeks together, free from duties or stress. For us to have this adventure was truly a gift that we will not take for granted. It has reminded us that we are adventurers at heart. The beauty of the greek islands will stay with us as we return to Austin.
... tornado touch down near Alice, Texas. It was amazing how fast we found the little tiny town of Alice, Texas on the map, started to track the path as the news gave us updates, prepared ourselves for a fast “escape”, and watched as the rogue threat found its way skyward. ... corpus cristi , took a ferry over to aransas pass and than drove to rockland where we spotted a nice looking rv park on the water, called sand dollar resort. it wasn't too far from aransas wildlife refgue, but the weather was so bad that we didn't go to the refuge, next time. and there will be a next time!!
the rest of the time was going back to the birding places and to the beach. we are headed back to blanco and than we will post our last blog.

We were checking state parks today and wandered into Three Rivers. It is an old, tiny town with a big oil refinery and a big federal prison. That fact didn't make it very inviting for camping. In San Antonio the "girls'" menfolk were happy to claim them and the grandson reluctantly gave Gran back her vehicle. With a big bag of trail mix and a large Dr. Pepper for supper, I hit the road for Kingsville where my sweetie husband was also happy to welcome me.
