      ... to recall the events of that day. The cockroach museum lightened things up for us- it was a quick, but memorable stop( wink, wink!). Our drive to Austin was full of exclamations-"Blue Bonnets!! Blue Bonnets on the right!!" The roadside was so colorful. Once in Austin, it was fried chicken at Lucy's- fun to sit out in the cool evening air with a tin bucket of fried chicken- and some FRIED deviled eggs.       ... aspects of the south. The Stockyards used to be an area where cattle such as sheep, lamb, cow, or any other farm animal could be slaughtered for food, or auctioned off to other farmers. Sooner rather than later business had began to suffer. Now, The Stockyards main attractions are the touristy shops, and the rodeo.

      ... and gave us 5 tickets for entry to the zoo. He had been given them and they expired on 31 December. A bit of a bonus. Simon has told all the entries that we are Seniors which is over 65 and of course they don't ask for proof. The zoo boasts over 7000 animals including birds and reptiles.       ... arsey. After dinner we all walked over to the Rodeo stadium and handed in us free tickets which Brayden gave us before we got there.       ... called "Trevi's Restaurant". The food was awesome. It included one of the most tender mouth watering steaks I've ever eaten. Donna had the seafood and it was just as nice. We ended up sharing our dinners for a nice touch of surf and turf.
