From Roswell we drive to Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are on the Unesco world heritage list, so we decide to pay them a visit. Located 250 meters under ground are loads of stalagmites, stalactites, draperies, soda straws and popcorn. Soda straws being the tiny ones hanging from the ceiling . In Europe we call them Spaghetti. Popcorn are located on the ground. The cavern is beautiful, but we saw an even more beautiful cavern in Slovenia last year, so were a little spoilt. ...

So there are over 100 pictures here. On her actual birthday, we started off with donuts - of course - and a giant balloon. Then we went to Toys R Us. After that, we had a quick lunch and then home where Addy watched Mama bake a little smash cake and make some frosting. I ...
... party on Saturday. It will be a full house! Most of the family Addy has met at least once except she will get to meet my sister and brother's family for the first time. Oh so sweet. I cannot wait - I have missed them so!!! We are doing great and look forward to a fun filled rest of the week. Hope everyone is great too!
It's 3:22am on Sunday the 23rd. The world has not ended and I'm in Texas. Jet lagged. Last Friday I jumped on a plane in a premeditated attempt to show up at my parents door and surprise them for Christmas. I formulated the plan back in September. In the end for one reason or another it was just my dad and my mom's mom who didn't know I was coming. It was weird to go form sipping on a Jack and Coke with the Euro Babe as we sweltered in Bali ...
... in our own beds. But, we will miss being awed by history, geography and cultural differences. We can, however, tell you that one of the things that strikes us most when we return is how fortunate we are to live in North America. It reminds us to not take for granted all that we have access to on a daily basis and for the opportunities we have all around us.
