SXSW comes to town!

... Most days I had to cruise round town reporting on unofficial parties for SXSW to earn my badge which wasn't so bad. My two partners - Spence the firefighter and Jezzika the 'kooky' Asian UT student would join me for the rounds and we'd load up on all the free drinks and free swag we could find before searching out the next party. When not 'On Duty' I'd chill with Clara, Phil, Hannah their friend from home, Simon and the banner crew doing exactly the same ...

... with eccentric dishes like venison, duck, chicken meatballs. Everything we order is amazing, the flavors all complement each other perfectly. The place was exactly what I wanted for dinner in Austin with friends.

... Lisa said we had to do before we left Texas, and that was to go to a Texas BBQ. My Dad would have loved our adventure today as he is a big fan of smoked BBQ. Based on recommendations from Nat and Ofer, we went to 'The Salt Lick' which they claim is like no other BBQ. Mum and Lisa enjoyed four different meats - beef brisket, pork ribs, sausage and turkey all smoked over an open fire pit. Served with a side of potato salad and coleslaw, it really was a meal like ...
