... to the #1 in the world the day before, but the people were nice, and the coach is really in very nice shape! Unfortunately, Greg had started having stomach pain on the drive down, and really wasn't feeling well, so after we talked and looked at the coach for about 3 hours, we told them we were pretty serious, but just had to go find a place to sleep on it in hopes that Greg would feel better the next morning. ...
Left Austin about 10am with a nice send-off from the family. Drove north up I-35 until Waco, then turned northeast. Stopped at Collins Street Bakery in Waco and got a really delicious sandwich, plus a blueberry angel food cake, and some coffee. Jumped rope for a few minutes, then continued on highway 31 (much prettier than 35). Went through Corsicana, Athens, Sulphur Springs. Short break in ...
... weird that someone was going to the park as it was getting ready to close for the evening but at this point I was ecstatic that someone was there to give me a jump.
Once I had hit them up for a jump and was getting everything ready to go, I overhead one of the women talking on her phone. Apparently they were meeting a friend in the park and a miscommunication led to him being on the north side and them going to the south ...
We made a stop in Mineola, Texas . . . in what appeared to be a bit of a worn out town. I snapped a picture . . . with three stores on a main street . . . "Vintage Charm," "Taste of Italy," and an old hotel "Beckham Hotel Coffee Shoppe!" They have a certain 'charm,' but I doubt it is everyone's cup of tea (or coffee!).
