My Dubai experience has been so far the best. First night was fun. Got to eat pork in Lamesa Asiana Hotel. I think we gained 2 kilos that night. . City tour like any other tours was tiring but fun. All est are with them. Tallest these and that. All are absolutely impressive. Saying no to come back will never be an option.

... I hate doing it, but if you do not, then you have paid double. I did end up with a nice purse. I know this is the last place to shop. I had to go to the Gold Souk to pay...... Long story. Anyway, the gold in the windows was unbelievable. I wonder how the shelves held the weight. It is all 24 karat. It is more orangey than our 18 karat. I could not believe they had a vending machine for gold. It reminded of buying the boys those toys in the plastic ...

Today we ventured out into the modern part of the city - the bit you think of when you think of Dubai... We got up fairly early by our standards, had a nice breakfast (I was tempted by the chicken curry but decided it wasn't really breakfast material) and then headed down to the lobby to get the shuttle bus to the beach. It turned out that it went to the wrong beach... So we walked a couple of miles through the old town to the nearest Metro station ...
