On the way to Denver we drove through Kansas which had the most amazing views of corn fields, round hay bales and giant wind turbines! When we crossed the border into Colorado we topped at the welcoming center. There ended up being a museum called Old Town Museum. We ate at Stephen's the next morning, a restaurant on the adjoining lot of the hotel - a good, fresh breakfast. We stopped for a few supplies at Miller's Grocery, which had a good selection and very friendly clerk. One quick picture of the flags flying at the town hall against a bright blue July 4 sky, and we were on our way.

... coffee, we went to the shop to have my bike inspected. The service mechanic was very nice; he inspected it right away, showed us how to inspect it ourselves, and said there was nothing wrong with the bike -- Pike's Peak was just too much for it with the triike kit and luggage. We then took off for Kansas via I-70, stopping for the night at Super 8 in Goodland, KS.
