Drove into goodland late this evening and stumbled apon a giant Van Gogh painting
More windshield time
Made it through Colorado today and are stopping in Goodland for the night. We have a pool and hot tub at the hotel which will cool tensions and hopefully with a good night sleep we will be refreshed for another day on the road.
Flat
A few people en route who have listened to our plans to drive back to New York have all offered similar remarks about Kansas. Basically that it is flat and boring.

Site seeing off of I-70
Day 30
Traveling on I-70 on our way back, Goodland Kansas was our first stop. It's where they have this reproduction of a GIANT Van Gogh painting "Three Sunflowers in a Vase". The painting is 24 feet by 32 feet, on an 80 foot steel easel. Pretty neat! The boys were cracking jokes because no one else was there and there were no gift shops. No appreciation for art I tell ya! Lol

West Coast 2012
Departed Dallas at 7:30 and arrived Burlington, CO at 7:00. 711 mi. Taking the OK/KS route to CO was not bad at all, as was interstate all the way. Not going thru all the small towns was not nearly as tiring. In scenic Burlington (ha), we found the no-tel motel, Sloan's Motel. Was basic, but fine. Walked to Safeway for Lean Cuisines dinner in the micro! We are such high rollers! 105 there ...
