We sat around a taco dinner and then
their son Larry, his wife Becky and their two kids turned up to loan
us a jeep for the time we were there to save driving the RV
everywhere. They stayed for dessert and hung out around a fire pit
where there was a lot of smoke, some roasting of marshmallows and
lots of laughter. Great night, in fact it was 11.15pm and we were all
still up chatting. Tired kids tomorrow!

... and broken windows. There were countless potholes on every street that looked beyond the tar bandaid most roads get. There were homeless people no matter which direction you looked, and we passed by the only grocery store in the city, a Whole Foods, on our way to the bar. It turns out most food is grown (though not much), or else purchased at restaurants or corner stores. It is quite unfortunate.
