Mmm cafe

... Sunny Delight, cafe and cup of fruit.
Landing in Santiago did not appear to be anything. I could not see a town or much. Not many trees. Mountains though.
So, Santiago was where we needed to leave and get my bags, but upon going through customs, we were told we have to pay the reciprocity fee of $131 dollars each just to go get my bag and take a flight. I was defeated but Nick was ...

Mexico City - To Belles Artes and Beyond

... earth because there may be as many as six police officers at an intersection. The look of the Centro Historico is very much that of old Spain and the streets I have seen in Madrid, Barcelona or Seville. As a matter of fact, the entire Centro Historico is there because of what the Spaniards built many years ago. When one thinks of colonial architectural impact in the New World, there is only one conclusion. Spain left much more of its ...

Aventures a Mexico City

... so that you can find an unexpected museum somewhere between the musuem you have just visited and the one you´rethinking of visiting this afternoon. The same kind of thing that would happen in any major European City, like Paris or London. It is polluted (that can be annoying), but oh boy, that feeling at around 6 PM when the sun starts going down, especially now in the spring that some trees have flowers, that´s worse spending the day in the quasi-smog. Actually I feel like Mexico ...

Mexico 2 - Xochimilco & Anthropology Museum

Fun filled adventures

... I was not surprised at all to see a major protest in the streets regarding the current conditions in Mexico City. People were shouting "down with the government" admist a SWARM of police. I have never seen so many police. There is a growing discontent and disconnect between the people and law enforcement. Corruption, greed and selfish ambition has plagued law enforcement, making them public enemy number 1 to the people. While we watched the protest we ate crickets! No joke ...
