Holiday Inn Columbus-City Center, Oh

Hello everyone! Sorry it has taken so long for us to write! Once we got home the computer wasn't allowing us to post a new blog!

So we got our visa for Talia at the embassy on November 10th and we immediately contacted our travel agent, Willa at Creative Vacations to see when was the soonest we could leave Ukraine! Willa worked her magic and we flew out of Kiev at 6:30am on November 11th. We flew from Kiev to Paris ...

Bon voila nous avons fait pas mal de route et sommes installes a Columbus, Ohio dans un Days Inn. Nous sommes partis de Montreal a 7h45 pour arriver ici vers 22h45. Total environ 1150km. Les enfants ont tres bien supporte le voyage. Nous nous dirigeons demain pour Oklahoma City.

So yep I am out of money and back to work . . . Been in Columbus now for about a month, got a job as soon as I got here which was pretty cool. Working in an asset recovery firm doing some admin work and some sales, pretty laid back so it's pretty good. Also got a job in an Italian restaurant which is going to be fun!! Its hardcore getting back to work though . . .

Been living with my cousin Erica and ...

... too looking at the map that we're pretty much in line with Baltimore to the east of here, which looks to be a good day's drive (probably as far as we came yesterday from Nashville to Grove City), so I'm of half a mind to head that way instead. Hmmm, decisions!!

Scott flew in from Boston where he had an afternoon work meeting.

The kids and I drove to Columbus after school. We went through Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia (again), and finally to Ohio.

We saw a replica of Columbus's Santa Maria on the river in town.

... two days ago. I already knew, from a map on the train, to take the U2 to the flughafen (airport). I found a ticket machine, paid my 1.90E, and followed the signs to the U trains. An escalator took me down 2 levels and I waited for my train to be shown on the electronic board. They were all U1 trains, so I walked around and finally saw a U2 sign pointing to an escalator; this one went up 1 level. Go figure! I checked out the system map while trains came ...

... and I think he is about due for it again. I am doing house stuff, and reading a good book. Also getting our pictures downloaded and on our webshots page. That took several hours! Around 4 Charlie emailed me that he had not seen the doctor yet, and finally at 6 called to say he had seen him and was on his way home. He will go to the hospital in Columbus on Wed morning and will stay for 5 days!!!! They are going to use a new chemo on him. I will know more when he arrived home ...

... enough to hold everybody. I had to pay close attention though. I could hear the boarding announcements for the Greensboro flight ahead of mine, but really had to pay attention to catch the info for my flight. One other item worth noting here: given Skybus' lofty expansion plans, I think they're going to run into a real space constraint in the CMH departure area.
