Hi all We had a 6.15am wake up call and a great breakfast. Jackie as usual was a little slow moving - being an afternoon person etc. Todays travel was from Lake Lucerne to Cologne, Germany. Our day started quite early and after breakfast we took the coach into Amsterdam to enjoy an hours canal tour. Not quite as flash as the one we did with mum and dad which included the cheese platter and wine, but interesting and always a pleasant way to look around this great city. After the easy going tour yesterday, today I had to work hard. Coming from the Rur valley I crossed over to the Rhine. The landscape was open and slightly going up and down with in the distance the constantly threatening Eifel.
The maker of this route has clearly made a choice for the more easy northern area.
Nevertheless in combination with the heat (>30C) made the day challenging ! But I'm not in the position to complain ! Yes my butt ...
