A Delightful Delancey

On our drive from Scranton, PA to Easton, MD, we decided to make a visit.

My grandmother Nelson has a friend names Margaret Delancey who lives right on route to Easton! In fact, we saved 2 miles by visiting her, avoiding some highway and taking backroads to her home. So we decided to give her a call and visit for a short while en route.

My grandparents know Margaret from her support of their medical ...

Double-Duty

Today was our first day having two schools in a morning. Thursday morning, we went to Milford MS in Quakerown, PA. The school was scheduled for 8:00, but they started sending the kids into the gymnasium at 7:20! Thankfully, we were way ahead of schedule and about ready to start the show anyway, but apparently there was some miscommunication or a change of plans, and the ...

August 30th My Trip Starts Again!!

I have a break in my trip until I leave for my two months of adventure on August 30th. A tiny detail called work is in the way this week but it gives me some time to plan the next leg of my trip after Central America. I start up again with a flight to Prague and then some exploration in the Balkans. The former Yugoslavia and all of the new countries that formed out of its wreckage interest me and I am curious to see how they have evolved since the ...

Exactly how many crayola colors are there?

... the wax was diffent colors, but was very hot), and an area for fabric art that required the purchase of a $10 t-shirt to design. The modeling clay area was fun and the kids spent a lot of time here, Max enjoyed this area which was helpful because it did not take too much effort to distract him when we took the girls to the "wax" area. The "hot wax" area, for lack of a better term, was decent, but it was in a partitioned corner of the room so that little ...

Mercer Museum

... 5 the entry fee was waved! Decision made. The museum looks great, like a concrete castle with plenty of parking (there were a lot of people so we parked on the grass being assured by museum personnel we wouldn't get a ticket - we didn't). Walking inside we explored the castle which has many every day objects hanging on the wall and ceilings ...

Preparation

One more day. I'm so excited! We finished packing today and somehow manage to fit the whole shopping cart of extra supplies. Good thing cotton balls are light and they make excellent packing material. Two 50 lbs bags each. That's 20 bags total or 2000 lbs! wow.

In closing...

P.S. Oh, I miss anxiously perching on the edge of worn roller chairs, typing furiously, while adolescent boys smoke cigarettes and exchange good-natured taunts to each other and warily eye my headwrap. I work best under pressure, so even my own journaling has suffered since I got back to bethlehem where I have been filling my days with menial tasks and catch-up chores. Add another tooth extraction to the mix and a slow recovery and I am in the throws of a vacation hangover ...

The whole story

... lemongrass, chili pepper, or Thom Yung Goong-ish.) Dinner was fantastic and wildly stylish. I have often described Rudj as simply to coolest man I know...and his choice of restaurant just solidified that image. The four of us along with two other pals of Rudj & Liz had a gas. They also presented us with our welcome to New York cassette tape (made sense to me). Mine was a snazzy copy of Little Shop of Horrors. Shazam! After supper, we descended yet again to the subway. I ...

Poconos

My First Assignment was in East Stroudsburg, PA. I stayed several months here and was able to enjoy winter, spring and summer. A few years later, I did see the beautiful fall foliage. While here, I did a lot of exploring, hiking and a couple of trips into NYC and one to Philadelphia. I loved visiting Bushkill Falls, one of my favorite places to get away. I also went to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA.
