We booked in as part of a tour package, so had no real say. Really glad the tour company did though.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the fisrt thing we were told is that we had an upgrade (probably helped we were staying Tue - Fri.

We enjoyed the pool, and the room was clean, welcoming and comfortable. And, if you do get the upgrade to a suite on the 20thh floor, the view is fantastic.

The only issue (minor unless you are a TV junky) is that the television reception did not always lock on channel, so you missed out on half a dozen channels. Oh and really convenient for Downtown Vancouver.

The location and space was great but the lobby smelled like bad cologne. There is a hotel and apartment type situation depending on what you rented. The wifi only lasts two days and you only get one device per room or it costs extra. A little outdated.

A great hotel! We were pleased to find a small kitchenette between the lounge & bedroom with an oven / cooktop / fridge and coffee machine. Bed was excellent with windows that open for some fresh air. Staff were particularly helpful. Short walk to Yaletown restaurants and the Davie Street wharf where we travelled to Granville Island. Modest walk to Gastown. Care re Hastings Street though - lots of dodgy characters! All in all our best accommodation so far.

Historical Traveler Reviews Rosedale on Robson Vancouver

Stayed at the Rosedale with relatives for a family reunion and our 16th wedding anniversary last July 2004. The location was perfect, hotel furnishings were fabulous, rooms were absolutely clean and staff was most helpful. Although, the pool wasn't kid friendly because the water was too deep for our children. They should've had a separate pool for kids. The stores nearby closes early and we were hoping the restaurants would stay open late in the evening. Overall, our stay at the hotel was wonderful and I'd recommend it!

          Needs Some improvement

Great location, but arrived at our room and found that the air conditioning did not work. The gentleman at the front desk told US to take the cover off the front of the unit and maybe try to reset it. After one hour of no air conditioning we were moved from the 3rd floor to the 13th floor.

This was done by my wife and myself with 6 pieces of luggage. We found it very odd that at 21 story hotel only had 3 elevators (each holds twelve barely). We spoke with several people who complained of this. Watercloset on the 13th floor leaked out onto the floor when flushed. On a brighter side the room was clean. Perhaps a bit of

preventive maintainance and a little more training

for the gentleman at the front desk. Never put the customer in harms way by asking them to try to perform maintainance on mechanical equipment.

          Kid Friendly Hotel

This is a good hotel for staying in Vancouver with kids as it is all suite so the rooms are bigger than normal with plenty of space for the kids to run around in. The location is slightly away from the main downtown area and tourist sights such as Gastown and Grenville Island - taxis are cheap. However it is very close to Yaletown where there is a good selection of restaurants etc. Rosies the restaurant in the hotel is also popular and reasonable - people come off the street for breakfast which is unusual for a hotel restaurant. There is a treasure chest at reception with games etc to keep the kids amused. One problem - the indoor hotel pool was too cold for the kids when we were there in late May. Overall a good hotel worth considering - we would stay there again

          Nice Hotel

Nice hotel situated in a great location. Short walk to a number of shopping areas and tourist attractions.

Brilliant - and Proud to be Kid Friendly

This hotel prides itself on being Kid Friendly - and it certainly is - my 4 year old loved it, and so did I. The hotel is in a great location, on the quiet end of Robson Street rather than the busy, touristy end.

Our room was very comfortable - and was conveniently located next to a guest laundry room. The hotel has a laundry room on every odd floor - which is very helpful as the machines are generally available.

On the second floor there is a wonderful roof-top garden which has a climbing frame and swings. My jet-lagged young son enjoyed playing there whilst I relaxed in a nearby lawn chair. Near the hotel reception counter was a 'treasure chest' which children were encouraged to dip into whenever they wanted and it was full of new, inexpensive toys. My son loved the Treasure Chest and it kept him happy whilst I made enquiries, etc. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly.

The hotel has a restaurant called Rosies which is popular with the locals and always busy, the food was excellent in a relaxed atmosphere.

The only negative - and it is not with the hotel - is the appalling Airporter Shuttle service - take a taxi and save a lot of grief, especially if travelling on your own with a young child. The Airporter does not go direct to the Rosedale, passengers are dropped outside another hotel and have to wait for a connecting bus. We waited about 20 minutes and thankfully it wasn't raining as there was no where to shelter. The bus is high off the ground with steps and the drivers were exceptionally unhelpful - other passengers helped me (a petite woman travelling on her own with a 4 year old child) get our luggage on and off the bus. It was evident I would have struggled on my own if the other passengers had not come to my aid.

After getting on the connecting bus, the second driver literally drove past the Rosedale without stopping and went to the bus station instead to pick up extra passengers. He then said to avoid a one-way system, he would drop us about 2 blocks away from the Rosedale and expected us to walk back. I had to insist that he drop us outside the Rosedale! I registered a complaint with the hotel about the Airporter Shuttle service and its staff.

Very happy at the Rosedale on Robson

We stayed here before and after a cruise to Alaska. We couldn't fault the room and the service. We also enjoyed eating and drinking at Rosie's bar. We would certainly stay here again.

Loved the ambiance of Rosedale property

We stayed on the 15th floor in RCI condo, view is wonderful and the location is great!! The hotel rooms we saw were average, but the pool and whirlpool were in excellent condition, very quiet and private. They had a lovely patio and gardens, excellent restaurant. Yale Town shopping, 6 blocks to main shopping on Robson. Such a relaxing atmosphere, I would definitely stay there again.

          Great Hotel! Great People!

Absolutely one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Staff was cordial and professionsl. The rooms were impecable. Great value for the price! Great location and easy access to all attractions.

          Spacious rooms

The suite was really spaciuos und clean and the staff were friendly. And the kitchenette was of course very usefull.

          It was ok

Our 2 bedroom suite was very small. It was clean and everything, but the living room/kitchen area was so small.

Act 2 of Vancouver resumed on Thursday (21st) after reluctantly returning on the shuttle bus from Whistler. Tim's probably giving you the low down already, but Whistler is a 'must see' place if you're ever visiting Western Canada. No matter your age, gender, interests or the time of year, there is something there for everyone.... We happily …

After yet another fantastic train journey we arrived in Vancouver pretty late - just after 11pm Saturday night (that's 7am Sunday for those of you in Blighty). Rather than tackling the logistics of the public transport at such a late hour (which could easily escalate into full scale civil war between Tim & I) we jumped in a taxi & took a …

What can I say about the flight? It was full, the lady sitting next to us was a TV CAff producer with TVNZ and we could goss about job losses. We were relieved the coughing man we passed several times inside the airport was not sharing our plane, we'd decided we would ask to be upgraded to first class if we had to sit next to him! The only other …

Get it? Super Australian title, and no one in Canada understands.

Jonathan was pampered today, with a massage to get rid of some shoulder and leg kinks. Very pleasant, particularly because Robyn did a load of washing in the hotel laundry while Jonathan was luxuriating in sweet, sweet pain.

Day 1: Arrived at YVR@ after another long Thomas Cook flight.
