... actually just a forest worker (with awesome leather hat!). He was very friendly but made it clear I needed to move on. Time to head to Munich I guess...

Munich was all about Oktoberfest and Oktoberfest was all about having a couple of quiet beers and eating some nutritious salad based meals.

After putting me in harness and helmet, we launched, running together towards the edge of the cliff, but before we reached it, suddenly we we're rising into the air, not falling. The updraft ...

A day to just relax and rest up.

Took the local bus (jammed with French schoolkids) the 5 min ride into Chamonix center. Lounged in the sun for much of day in the deck chairs outside the tourist office, explored more of the village and window shopped a little (but we could barely move our legs).

Grabbed a couple of burgers from Mickey D's (yes, we're getting homesick) and headed back to the hotel to relax on the deck overlooking the mountains with a bottle of wine.
