A really nice hotel with easy access to the airport, and a convenient shuttle service. Staff allowed us to check in early. Very quiet and clean hotel.

Comfortable, Convenient, But hope Nothing Goes Wrong

    Large comfortable room
Location is convenient for the airport by complimentary shuttle bus
Reachable from the city by metro and a 15 minute walk
Staff friendly at first, but when the door lock jammed denying entry they blamed the guests. But the technician who opened it said it was a battery failure. It meant waiting an hour late at night for the technician to arrive and then a change of room. No apology was offered and no compensation. The hotel was prepaid, but on check out the next morning, there was some additional tax to pay of Euro 5.11. Having the exact coins of Euro 5.10 to offer was not good enough; they insisted on having Euro 5.11, which meant giving notes and getting a lot more coins in change. For all the disruption of the night before they were not prepared to offer even 1 cent in compensation.

When she tried to pull him into the door, Frank broke away - she wasn't getting that lucky! Meanwhile Fred continued his crusade to see how cheap he could talk them down to, to varying degrees of success. But all of a sudden, again an incredible wave of motivation washed over the both of them, and they ...

... historical building in which the families hid. Some of the other tourists were confused if that was a replica, but no, just so you know, we entered and stepped through the same stairs and touched the walls that Anne Frank once stepped on and touched. The lazy water seemed so soothing outside the home, which probably gave a false sense of tranquility back in WWII. The bookcase was so symbolic - Anne felt so trapped behind that bookcase, but through her diary and ...

... up with the quaint little bars I love so much and some really good lunch at a bar on Princengracht.

One of the things I love about Amsterdam so much is the quality and sheer volume of street art that pops up in the most surprising of places. I'ts everywhere and blends in seamlessly amongst the old classic Dutch buildings.

Larry and I went out to do some night shooting and soon found the other element of Amsterdam. Gypsies or foreign nationals were about in crowded areas. They attempted to pick pocket me but failed in their attempt. Needless to say we began looking around us thinking that groups of guys were watching us because of the equipment. We kept to well lighted areas and returned to the Hotel. Go ...

... I loved exploring the narrow streets and interesting shops without having a strict agenda. We missed the flea market by a few minutes but made it up to the Openbare Bibliotheek - an artistic library with it's modern architecture. That evening we ate at the Supperclub, it was WELL worth the hour it took to find the place (and ignoring our hunger rages) I've never been anywhere like it and am truly ...
