A really nice hotel with easy access to the airport, and a convenient shuttle service. Staff allowed us to check in early. Very quiet and clean hotel.

Comfortable, Convenient, But hope Nothing Goes Wrong

    Large comfortable room
Location is convenient for the airport by complimentary shuttle bus
Reachable from the city by metro and a 15 minute walk
Staff friendly at first, but when the door lock jammed denying entry they blamed the guests. But the technician who opened it said it was a battery failure. It meant waiting an hour late at night for the technician to arrive and then a change of room. No apology was offered and no compensation. The hotel was prepaid, but on check out the next morning, there was some additional tax to pay of Euro 5.11. Having the exact coins of Euro 5.10 to offer was not good enough; they insisted on having Euro 5.11, which meant giving notes and getting a lot more coins in change. For all the disruption of the night before they were not prepared to offer even 1 cent in compensation.

Let me start off by saying that I cannot believe that we have already been here for a month! Where has the time gone?! I have a feeling it's only going to start going by faster with all the exciting travel plans we have for the remainder of our time living in Europe.

I decided to break this trip down into two different blog posts, because I feel like sometimes I get a bit lengthy when I write. Sorry 'bout it!

We began our journey to Amsterdam late ...

... camp meal- lots of arguments over this, I think the switch to chorizo and creamy sauce was a critical moment. The creamy mushroom sauce was my personal favourite. - Worst foods O - Traditional Patagonian Lamb Asado. Disappointing in Chile and Argentina. Especially so in Puerto Natales, the service was also shocking, what was more shocking was the grumpy waitresses beat us to the top of Torres Del Paine the next day! - Best ride O - the scenery made such a difference to the ...

... ate some Dutch pastries which were more like lunch since they had meat in them. Then we headed to the museums. The first one was the houseboat museum where they outlined how people have lived in houseboats over the past few hundred years. It was neat and very small bed-wise. Reminded me of a sailboat! Tom had to duck since he was too tall so I guess it wouldn't be great for everyone though. The next museum was a cat museum, which was created by ...

Later on, we went to a delicious cheesecake restaurant near our house with lots of fun flavors and we all tried each others. I had some sort of berry-brownie cheesecake that was amazing. Someone else got a key lime pie one and irish coffee which were both really good. I wasn't a big fan of the chocolate orange ...
