A really nice hotel with easy access to the airport, and a convenient shuttle service. Staff allowed us to check in early. Very quiet and clean hotel.

Comfortable, Convenient, But hope Nothing Goes Wrong

Large comfortable room
Location is convenient for the airport by complimentary shuttle bus
Reachable from the city by metro and a 15 minute walk
Staff friendly at first, but when the door lock jammed denying entry they blamed the guests. But the technician who opened it said it was a battery failure. It meant waiting an hour late at night for the technician to arrive and then a change of room. No apology was offered and no compensation. The hotel was prepaid, but on check out the next morning, there was some additional tax to pay of Euro 5.11. Having the exact coins of Euro 5.10 to offer was not good enough; they insisted on having Euro 5.11, which meant giving notes and getting a lot more coins in change. For all the disruption of the night before they were not prepared to offer even 1 cent in compensation.

... which stocked some cool stuff...we bumped into Evan and Alanna, and they to weren't sure what to do,so we all decided on heading down to the Heineken Experience. We caught a taxi as it was too far to walk and we couldn't quite figure out the right tram number...but between the 4 of us, it made the trip pretty cheap. The Heineken experience was awesome, really worth it! We bought a package where you get an extra beer and a burger in their rooftop it was €25 ...

... tour tomorrow. OK now we are a long way from home. We are still using a map the has"foreign" names, all these side street that are not on the map, crowds of people and bicycles, cars, trams and pedestrians to avoid! Not as easy as that sounds! We ended up walking through the red light district area, not right in the center of it. BUT, we passed a gelato store so we had to be refreshed! Caramel and delicious vanilla cookie gelato all around. Ok we try to ...

... took about 40mins to make which goes along with all the other hospitality experiences we have had in Europe. They aren't too into pleasing with customer and go on their own time frame, something I've noticed more than other people but that's probably because elf my working experience in hospitality. Once our appetite's were satisfied we head into Van Gough, this turned out for me to be the best art gallery experience I've ever had! None of us realised how big the museum was ...

A day out in Amsterdam!

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Sep 03, 2013

We gave ourselves a little sleep in this morning as we had a free day in Amsterdam. After breakfast we found the bus stop and went back into the city. The bus dropped us off at the impressive central station, a beautiful building. Looks like a palace but its just a train station. Our first stop was the Anne Frank house, the hiding place of the Frank family and a few others during WWll. I had already been there years ago but really enjoyed it so was happy to ...

... been there, done that) and I went via the supermarket and bought dinner and went home and veged.
That night I had the night to myself as Stephanie went to a music festival thingy.

Bugga, she got home at 0500hrs Sunday morning! Then up at 1000hrs - I'm going to clean, she says. Hmmm, could have been timed better, like before I came to your place! Then I learned the reason for the big spring clean - her bf from the US was coming the ...
