A really nice hotel with easy access to the airport, and a convenient shuttle service. Staff allowed us to check in early. Very quiet and clean hotel.

Comfortable, Convenient, But hope Nothing Goes Wrong

    Large comfortable room
Location is convenient for the airport by complimentary shuttle bus
Reachable from the city by metro and a 15 minute walk
Staff friendly at first, but when the door lock jammed denying entry they blamed the guests. But the technician who opened it said it was a battery failure. It meant waiting an hour late at night for the technician to arrive and then a change of room. No apology was offered and no compensation. The hotel was prepaid, but on check out the next morning, there was some additional tax to pay of Euro 5.11. Having the exact coins of Euro 5.10 to offer was not good enough; they insisted on having Euro 5.11, which meant giving notes and getting a lot more coins in change. For all the disruption of the night before they were not prepared to offer even 1 cent in compensation.

... but I'm also excited to come home. Turns out my plane arrived about a half hour early but I still only got to the hostel at around 8 because the streets are very confusing. I did find the hostel okay though and the people here seem nice. One of my roommates is a tattoo artist apparently and the other is a German guy I don't know much about. There ...

She has had several conversations an interest by companies, but at this point has not made up her mind on what to do. Exciting and scary at the same time, maybe it is time for a break after 15 years of working and a few turnulent years with small kids and Ole's disease. We will keep you posted.......

... little cafe on the street and people watch. We both ordered a panini and fries to share. What comes out is Michelle's panini, a chicken sandwich for me, fries, and bitter balls. Ok, not quite what we ordered, but whatever. Least they were good things. I understand that dining in Europe takes longer and you have to ask for your check. However, your server isn't suppose to disappear for like thirty minutes so you can't ask for your check. Then when we do ask for the check we ...

Our taxi was early, and there was no traffic to speak of - clearly 7am is also a bit early for the locals! Hard to believe I'm on my way to work at that time at home! So we arrived at the airport at about 7:15, expecting a very long wait at a coffee shop until boarding at 8:40... Only to find the baggage drop queue was about a mile long, as the forum had warned. Worked our way slowly to the front only to find that one had to pay 10 Lat (about $20) per kilo over 20kg, per ...

    ... days into some perspective.
Our trip to the Netherlands would not be complete without having tasted a herring roll from one of the many street-side vendors. We were in luck to locate one such stall on our way back to the hotel to collect our luggage. It seems our fellow travellers had similar plans and so we shared our snack in good company. Options offered with this raw fish delicacy included onions, gherkins, etc, but just plain in bread roll was ...
