And there I was thinking the best Springsteen show I ever went to was in April 1993. Because that was my first show for which I had to wait very long, since my parents wouldn’t let me go to the 1988 show and it took Springsteen until 1993 to come back to Holland. So my first show was the best show I’d been to. Just because you never forget your first love, right?
And I promise: I won’t. I won’t forget how my hand rested on His...
The first day we met with Mom and Madame and saw StephensDom (the local cathedral.) Very impressive. Then, Ted and I walked around a little bit to get our bearings. We were a little bit lost and standing on a corner trying to figure out how to find the Roman ruins at Hoher Markt. A very nice Viennese man heard us talking and stopped to help us. "Where are you from?" he asked. "The USA" we replied. "I knew that!" he said, "But where in the US?" He had gone to college on a track scholarship in ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria tedanderinstarrJust some pictures from Rothenburg, Germany which is a medieval city that also has a city wall. We ate, shopped at the Chrismas store (yes, Christmas shopping in summer) and purchased some ornaments and took in the city's sights, shops and street entertainment.

Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany silberregenIt was sooooo cold in Frankfurt, we didn't want to spend much time here since we had no winter clothing. WE got in late, went to our hotel, then back to the airport to get our flight to Bangkok moved up. We though it would be at 8 that night, but they managed to get us on the next flight out, which was pretty much within the hour. Woohooo! I also kept speaking Italian in Germany... so confused with all the languages.
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany sofenjon... a Haut Medoc from France? {what the heck is a Haut Medoc?}I have no idea what I selected or how much it cost in USD. I was told to stick to about $30/bottle but who can translate at 8 am after an 11 hour flight? I think it was about 57 Euro's total, so either way, I am 50% off budget - still not sure if I went too cheap or too expensive. Hopefully my colleague, Wally, the one who requested the purchase will be happy either way.

In ...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany dsauter... they kept saying "sorry" they could do nothing, and continued to ping-pong me around. I finally found a sympathetic official (or maybe he'd read about Americans going "postal") and he made some calls and FINALLY got my bags routed to Basel.

My bags arrived in Basel, where it was a joyous reunion, and we were on to Geneva. When I got them in Basel I literally had 3 minutes to get them downstairs to the train track. About all ...

Now we can’t wait to go back and spend more time in Sulzbach so we can tour the orchard!

We had a great dinner with great company, we reminisced about their trips to Florida and the Gators-Vols game, we learned more about the 2009 Oktoberfest songs and found out the Nadine was to perform one of them at the local festival later in the month, and then we drove back to their apartment to see all of the American sports paraphernalia hanging ...
