. . . . well actually we never did get a ferry across the Mersey. We used the train instead to reach The Wirral and the town of New Brighton having travelled from Derby via Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.

Coming to Liverpool was part of a birthday weekend for Mrs H and stopping in New Brighton was a little different to staying in the city itself. The town promises a long promenade to wander along giving expansive views across to ...

... Maritime Museum but have found that the city has a lot more to offer and we are looking forward to exploring it.

On another note - we have, at times, found various accents quite challenging. We were going well in Inverness until we had to have a discussion with one of the receptionists, Caroline. Her Scottish brogue was very thick - Chris managed to decifer most of it but Bruce had no idea what she was saying. Most of the young ladies in Liverpool ...

My bag weighs in at 13kg so I still am allowed another 10kgs in weight! Worried now that I've forgotten something but I don't think I have. Few last minute jobs to do tomorrow that the kids have given then heading for the airport at 15.30hrs. At last it here after all the hard ...

    Ruthin-Llangollen

Awake, breakfast & away for the day on a rather damp morning yet again. First stop Ruthin - a historic market town with half timbered buildings such as The Old Courthouse & Nnantclwyd y Dre- oldest timbered house in Wales. Our walk took us to these as well as Ruthin Castle dating back to 1277. Moving on we then preceded over Horseshoe pass to Llangollen a magical little village on the river Dee. Famous for ...
