... and the respect I had for it, I had always wanted to get into that canoe and paddle it. It was such an honour to be able to do that. For the first time ever, the Maoris made two wakas (canoes) which were to be used outside of New Zealand and both of them were made for and to be used by the Volkenkunde Museum.
