... life and heritage on the river banks. The tar extraction pits were most fascinating. They get the tar (i.e. resin) from the tree trunks, buried in large pits with a fire above. After this, we wandered around some of the town, had dinner at one of the stalls in the market square ( I had salmon, Ron had reindeer sausage and elk meatballs!) and then back to the hotel. In part we crossed forest without a trail. It became cold that day and the old snow went ruthlessly sharp. I collected quite some blue marks that day.
