... I realised that I’d left our two pin adapter cable back at OTPS with the extension lead that I’d borrowed. There was nothing for it other than to undo everything and return to OTPS to fetch the blessed thing and then re-tie ourselves back in the harbour in Oulu and then fetch a waitress again. ... washing day and we used the dryer and finished them off in the warm breeze (yes warm).

Once sorted, we walked on into the town to find where the supermarket was and we soon found one and got to speaking with a friendly chap serving behind the meat counter. It transpired that he was of Cretan origin, his father moved to Sweden and hence his son was Swedish. So, he spoke Swedish, Finnish, English (very, very well) and Cretan Greek – I can’t imagine coming ...

... find different stations where they must complete a task. The tasks range from charades, acting out scenes, singing and dancing, to removing clothes, going swimming in the lake and doing weird things with condoms and eggs (to not freak you out, we basically had to put an egg inside a condom without using our hands). The judges were older students who gave the groups points dependent on their performance of the task. However the judges ...
