... falafel sandwiches from a typical burger-deli van you find on almost every street corner through Manhattan. The temperature was -7c and had been even colder the few days before our arrival. The next couple of days were below freezing but blue skies and sunshine made up for the coldness.

The Aurora Borealis made one last appearance to wave us off, on the right hand side of the plane. I'm surprised we didn't tilt due to the scramble to get within view of a right hand window. Those who missed the chance to experience it while we were at Basecamp were very happy bunnies :D

Needless to say, everyone was being very polite at not going first hehe Whoever did go first, ended up being pulled speedily around the track, so we were all in fits of nervous laughter… until a couple of others had their go, and the reindeer was much calmer and was now slowly sauntering around.
