... and Potatoes and it was fairly expensive for China. It reminds me of that Japanese restaurant we went to for Rhedyn's birthday on Chapel St. The food was tasty, but I guess I can thank myself for that! haha.

Today I changed some money in preparation for the next few days adventures.

... busy there, in particular the bargain bin, where nothing is over 3 RMB (50c). It was so crowded there I couldn't even see what all the fuss was about. I was able to buy 2 600ml Pepsis, a packed of Pretzels, a large bag of Dorritos, Chocolate Milk and some Cadbury Chocolate all for 17RMB ($2.80).

... was highly recommended. According to Google it was a fair distance walk, but on the same road as the West Lake. So I walked alongside the West Lake for a while and then crossed over to look for an Art Museum which was apparently opposite it. I walked for ages with no luck, finding a place called Scholar's Corner, or something along those lines. So I walked around there, taking some videos along the way. As I say in the video, its hard to know what buildings ...

Today I walked for a while and ended up at Broken Bridge. The sight itself isn't so spectacular, it really is just a bridge, but is a very popular love story in chinese folklore. The story goes that two lovers met on the bridge but then the girl was banished to a temple so they couldn't see eachother. That isn't really the whole story, but I have forgotten it now. From the sounds of that its not so happy, but I think there is a happy ending.

Hangzhou is still cold but there is a development, there is now little bits of rain here and there, so my waterproof jacket is coming in handy.

... actually a big tourist destination for Chinese tourists, though there were almost no white people to be seen (except for a Hungarian musician I met who played a concert last night...). We passed the boathouse and compound for the Chinese national boat team, the skullers and crew for the Olympics. We saw them training this morning when they left the hotel, some were huge. ... and after meeting up with the others who had gotten lost, we continued on to Sword pond. It's a very beautiful area, and completely natural because there's really no one else there except the locals who have small drink stands amongst the trees. We walked for a while, and finally stumbled upon a rather unimpressive Sword Pond with a small waterfall and an even smaller pond. ... When the boat hangs up on rocks or is caught in the eddies of some of the falls, men come out of the bushes with long hooked poles to steer us along.
