Incredible!! What a joy we had with Spiros as our tour guide today. We were off the ship with no problem at all and met Spiros exactly as he'd directed. We were immediately off into the mountains and so many local villages. The people were lovely, though we didn't see too many as it was raining pretty hard for about thirty minutes. Then, it brightened up. The first village we went through was Doukades. Very narrow roads - no way big busses could get through there. We soon learned ...
I now understand what a warm sea breeze feels like! We sit out on the veranda whenever possible and truly enjoy it. Luckily the last few days have been without rain; so we're not having to carry around a lot of extra "stuff" (raincoat, umbrella. . .).
Our tour today was 7 hours long because we drove far out into the mountains. Our first stop was at a Monastery. Now sometimes it feels like all we see is churches. They're beautiful--but very plentiful! ...

After lunch we walked around to the Old Fortress. It was an incredible place, built almost 800 years ago by the Byzantines to guard the trading route. ...
Yesterday I was up too early so watched the sun rise over the distant hills. Arrived in Kotor Bay about 2pm. Stark hillsides rising from the shoreline with houses built close together going only a little way up. Taken ashore by tender, I.e lifeboat, to an awaiting coach for a 4hr 'highlights' tour. If ever you get the chance, do it. Quite amazing, not least 2 coaches passing on a single lane road with steep ...
