... Texas and the IHOP was playing it too during our dinner. The accents here are getting more southern too, but at this stage we are able to understand each other. Sam's ear is taking a while to come right. She is using an application that is removing a lot of gunk, but she is still having hearing difficulty. The weather has warmed up again after a few folder days up north. The tropical storm hitting the east coast isn't affecting here at all, so we are lucky yo be away from ...

A travel blog entry by jason934 on Oct 01, 2015

It's the start of our road trip. First stop is Wichita, Kansas. We headed off on our adventure at 1pm after shopping at Michaels, Petco, Walmart and Target in Omaha. We left a little later than hoped but didn't mind provided we arrived in Wichita before dark. The road trip went smoothly with no issues and we arrived at 5:45pm after our 4 hour 45 minute drive. After we dropped her off and said our goodbyes ...

... to attract people and stimulate the local economy. It was hard to tell just how well this has worked for Wichita, as we were there in mid-morning, and streets were relatively quiet.

We visited some of the city’s highlights like its iconic statue, called "Keeper of the Plains” which honors the native peoples of Kansas, and is located on sacred Indian ground. Here, as in a number of other places we visited, native tribal ...

Always fun to spend time with family. Our first night on vacation was with family in my hometown of Wichita. We were surprised with a good-old fashioned fish fry prepared by my Aunt Betty and Aunt Darlene. My grand mother was there as well. Good food and family - can't beat ...
