Today was my relaxing day. I am just on the crew ship enjoying the nice view of the Dominican. In the distance you can see the tallest point of the Dominican, Pico Duarte, that reaches up 3,098 meters in the air. It is part of the Northern Mountain Range. It is such a nice ...

R.I.P. Bobito (Wednesday 13/04/2011): I had just finished eating lunch in my host mom's house. She was in her bedroom doing homework for the university and my sister (about 26 years old) was carrying food to the various houses because she cooks lunch for some friends/family in Guasumita everyday. The guys took us 4 girls (Kati, Nina, Christine and I) to what by u.s. standards would be a cabin- except this was on a river. It was sooo beautiful. We ate, swam, drank. Pretty typical, but always entertaining.  Again the week progressed pretty typically- I saw a Dominican movie, "lotoman," and it was great, had ...

... people to open up to me more. About a week ago 1 of my project partners, Elvis, told me there was 1 hosue that it was not safe to go to because the lady smokes. I am hearing from other people it's because she's a witch. As I'm learning more I'm having to control what my normal reaction would be, because they don't have any reactions to the stuff they tell me because it's normal for them.
