The ship arrived in Lyon after lunch; we boarded a bus and toured around with a stop at one of the last family-owned silk scarf manufacturers. That was really impressive, and I don't even go for silk scarves! They use ~20-40 'screens' per design, they mix the paint with arabic gum so it's thick enough to stick to the silk but still thin enough to spread. ... dollar. Nope... all the ancient buildings are lived in, all the churches are open and free to visit, the riverfronts are open to all to enjoy... it's actually a challenge to find a postcard! There is no room to be a tourist in Lyon. One is immediately embraced and pulled along into the Lyonnais good life as if to say "What's a tourist? Living well is normal here." Love ...

I love trying out my grade 11 French skills and had much success! Turns out I can get a lot accomplished in ...

A large cup unusual for my experience, and an unfortunate soymilk formulation. The beans tastes sour at first, then falls away into the wateriness of the dilute soymilk, but reclaims itself after half-way, when the tastes begin to unpack itself into layers on the tongue and seeps into the bloodstream. Had a lie in after our late night last night, washed some clothes and had brioche for breakfast, then walked into Lyon again via the station where I attempted to make reservations for the train to Nice in French! Did a bit the same as yesterday and showed Megan around Lyon, then took some jam sandwiches and crisps to the park again and sat under the trees with our picnic which was nice, ...
