We visited Badlands National Park
today. We drove through the park on route 240 which had several
viewing areas. The formations, which seem to rise from the ground,
were amazing. The drive lasted for about 25 miles before leaving the

... it). It has grown quite a bit since 1964. We did some shopping. Now we head for the Badlands. It was another one of Mother Nature's treats. We were seeing it under cloudy skies but that did not de-value the beauty and what is going on there. The park erodes at the rate of 1 inch per year..compare to Mt. After enjoying a brief ride to Sioux Falls, SD and witnessing a spectacular sunset, we settle in for the night at the eerily sparse SD state fair grounds campsite and a showing of Star Trek Into Darkness in 3D (with bone rattling sub sonic audio, that the neighbors might easily have confused with an earthquake).
For anyone not watching, the Costa Concordia is now upright thanks to an expert salvage operation.
