    ... from Kansas on it was burst tyres and gophers. Again, that's all that there was to catch the eye. There aren't even hills.

    This morning we arrived early at St Ambrose Univ in Davenport to meet our bus charter (Brancel).     ... of the river but in South Dakota. Of course the nearby Dakota City is not in South Dakota but in Nebraska. Maybe the pioneers were just too tired or ran out of names.

    It was now the hottest part of the day and I'm getting tired. I had heard about a shady campground at Ponca State Park. I decided I would spent a couple days here since I needed to catch up on the blog, wash the van, and we both smell like dogs.

    ... little shop struggled to survive as people coming from the East just bypassed it on the way to the Black Hills in the 1930's. Wasn't until the wife decided to try and attract business by putting signs along the highway offering free iced water that people stopped and the business flourished to its 76,000 sq ft building today taking up an entire block . Highway signs still offer free iced water and 5cent coffees. ...
