      Freezing in Washington!

      ... of the Declaration of Independence and the magna carta. We saw the theatre Abraham Lincoln where was shot and the house he was taken to. There are some great restaurants and bars in Washington, similar to Canberra, wonderful food again! Just what we need!
      Washington is a great city and well worth a look and we are glad we went even if it was only a short visit.
      Next stop - New Orleans!!

The guided tour was well worth the money as Lea and I could have wandered around for days without capturing all of these landmarks and would have missed the history/background information only a seasoned tour guide could provide.       ... a guided tour of the city, first stop the Capitol building, not sure what they do there I think it's like their parliament or something, I was busting to go to the toilet so I wasn't really listening to the guide, pretty cool looking building though it's got a big dome and some lady on the top.       ... or extreme tiredness), whilst 3 hour trip provided time for William and Deb to update blog over coffee. We passed through towns like Philadelphia and Baltimore, arriving in Washington DC around 11.00am.

      Once arrived caught taxi to Holiday Inn Capitol, Deb instantly loved the look of Washington DC, with grandeur environment nowhere near bustling New York.
