For our first night's stay after riding in a bus all day long, this Holiday Inn was a very welcome site! Everything was great. I think the students especially enjoyed swimming in the pool! The best part was that the students were really great. I don't think any of the instructors were called out of their rooms to take care of any disturbances! I was very proud of our group!

Some humorous stories and good-natured teasing of the "sous chefs" kept everyone entertained while waiting to eat. All was not ready until around 8 PM. I was impatient to eat but definitely NOT bored!

When we finally got to check into our hotel, we decided to chill for a while. We are both tired of restaurant food, so Ted walked to a nearby supermarket and brought us both back roast dinners. Finally, a time when we didn't have to tip someone!

We decided to go out and meet the locals, so Ted found out about a venue that was located on the waterfront. After ...

School is out, and we are all packing, preparing for our journeys, saying goodbye to family, friends, and colleagues, and watching the news from Istanbul intently. Protestors and Turkish police clashed again today in Takisim Square, but as of now (early morning in Istanbul), the live video on CNN appears calm, as protestors have been pushed out with tear gas, water canons, and fire. Police ...
