We'll have been here a week by the time we leave on Tuesday, and it's
been fabulous to find time with so many old friends - including the
unexpected bonus of being parked near Jan & Steve - who are close
friends who now live in Arizona!!

I'm officially off on my first big journey away from home.
For six months, I will be teaching English and going to school to learn Japanese and get TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certified. Then who knows, will I come home and start from scratch, or continue my journey getting a teaching job in Japan? Or, will I continuing onward ...
WED: Stayed awake most of the night waiting for the alarm to go off at 6am. Still raining, but cleared as we left. The tailwind which whipped us from Chiacgo to La Guardia in no time at all is now a Big headwind and made the bumpy flight much longer than before. Great views of Lake Michigan coming in to Chicago. Time for lunch then on our way to Minneapolis. We are falling about laughing in Minneapolis airport cos everyone says ooooh yes and youuuu betcha. ...

As folks began leaving around 8:30 it became apparent that a few of us needed some "Phil-osophy," as Chadly, Barbara, Sarah, Phil and Nile discussed most of the world's problems and, actually came up with some rather striking solutions for many. It is truly amazing to see how the Madeline Island connection has drawn this disparate group of friends together.
The last of them left around 10:30 p.m. Cheers!
