We drove through orchards and more drought-"infested" hills as we made our trek toward Los Angeles. We stopped at a Chipotle and ate lunch - it tasted so good! - and kept on our way. The interstates of LA were as expected... traffic-filled, many exchanges, and required ...

... traffic infraction! You know, the kind where there is nobody actually in the car and the car is not moving.

We really enjoyed our time with family and I especially appreciated meeting little Mr. Daniel James (whom I may call “Jimmy” from time to time – because, well James is just too formal).

Sometimes it truly is not the sights but the people who make the place.

... up with contiki people who were doing the Los angles city tour, but staying at a different hotel. Eventually the bus arrived and we all got on. It was a short trip back to downtown. I got dropped at the double tree and walked back to the hotel via an ATM. I got back to the hotel, tydied up, used the internet and discovered that via facebook one of the guys that i used to work with was killed in a fishing accident. After that shock and trying to find out more i gave up and went to bed.

... booked dinner at the "Blue Bayou" restaurant for 5.30pm so there was no point going back to our hotel and coming back again so we continued to play hard.

The Blue Bayou restaurant was amazing. It is a restaurant inside made to look like you are actually dining outside. Very clever our photos don't do it justice, it was a bit dark. This is also the beginning of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" boat ride. Its quite funny sitting having dinner ...
