    ... It did rain for awhile (which Sarah insists doesn't really happen this time of year) and cooled everything off so that we could have a fire and s'mores. Yummy! Plus the girls got some more snuggle time with Sarah's animals - including the chickens and of course the kittens.     ... in their own pens. We saw the Hippopotamous, and took an excursion for a close up encounter after our first drive through the park. The trainer was feeding the Hippo as we arrived and then painted the Hippos nose with blue and green paint to make what she called Hippo Kisses on poster board.

    We left Chester, CA early for the 290 mile (470km) run to Canyonville OR. It was freezing (42F/5C) but Digger was OK in his Limo with the heater on!!!!

    ... don't know how I managed it without some assistance from the drive. Stopped at Rolling Hills Casino around Corning, California and Denis finally left up at that casino. I find north of Sacramento the scenery gets more appealing -- rolling hills with mountains in the background to the west and to the east the outlines of mountains in the distance fade in and out of sight.
