... the 29–35 °C range, but when accompanied by high humidity the heat is fairly oppressive by mid-afternoon. The heat was, on a couple of the days,   relieved by dramatic thunderstorms, with black clouds and big flashes and heavy, heavy rain. Without doubt, the joy of air-conditioning is not to be underestimated! Perhaps it was the heat that led to our forgetting our plans to have five days of nothing but pool time. Three days in we hired a car with the aim ...

... but 13 will live there forever. That could be a long time as they live up to 80 years. There were some really teeny little baby ones. Reuben wanted to pick one up and put it in his pocket. They had a red mark on their shells, which meant they could go back to sea. There were a lot of green turtles swimming around. They only eat things that are green, and their meat is green, hence the name. They were put in cans until the 1960s can't legally be eaten any more :-) We fed them some ...

At 60pppn these cruises are a great way of travelling in the area, staying in nice accommodation, eating great food, watching some entertainment and not having to plan much. I appreciated this ease of travel and not having to get up early to catch an 8 hour bus etc, also one of the only holidays where I have arrived back home and not REALLY missed our bed.

... side of the road, and the ocean on the other. The pink pools ripple with the wind and once in a while throw foam unto the side - the white band you see along the pink pools is foam. It is such a strange sight to see what looks like light white cotton balls or snow, rolling around as we bike along.

We have snorkeled twice already. Although we had decided to snorkel in a new location, the recommended snorkel sites on the southern end were too rocky for ...

... had drinks and nibbles sat at the on board bar, before heading back to our seats/beds for afternoon tea before landing.

Not sure we could have asked for a better 9 hour journey to be honest! and now we are in Miami, and looking for a cab to take us to our hotel for the night.

We stayed at the Hilton close to the airport which was a short taxi ride from arrivals. a great hotel, but apart from a dip in the pool at 8pm we pretty much slept there!
