... sunshine. The road heads directly into the sun and it is brutal to see anything. Not far down the road we cross into Nebraska and find the "Mother load" of RV Parks. Sidney, NE is the World Headquarter of Cabela's and they have an RV Park right behind the office complex. This will be a must stop for anyone heading West on I-80.

The road now is flat and straight out in front of ...

... this a first class museum but I suspect that much of this collection will be lost do to lack of interest. What a shame. Compare this with the Cole Museum of Transportation in Bangor ME where each piece of the collection has a story to tell instead of stacked side-by-side. Then, JoAnn took us downtown where we checked out some of the sites on the main drag, 3rd St. The Grand ...

After 7 hours, we made it to Cornhuskerland! Here's a picture of Maggie and her college buddy, JoAnn, with whom we will be staying tonight. The ride was easy, no bad weather. I will have to say that it seemed like we were in Missouri all day! That state needs an Interstate highway that runs diagonally from the Southeast to the Northwest. Driving straight across from St. Louis to Kansas City, then up to Nebraska City is ...

... have ridden through in Nebraska have had either oil refineries or grain silos right in the middle of town. When we got to a town called Shelton we took a break and did our laundy at a laundromat. Then we watched a DVD in the RV. From there it was an easy 16 mile ride into Grand Island. I was very glad to be in Grand Island because now I'm only 90 miles from Lincoln which is 40 miles from Omaha. Tomorrow I will ride to Lincoln. Today I rode 87 ...
