          Dry, and freezing cold. We enjoyed a bracing 2+ hours walking tour of downtown Chicago. Bernie was very knowledgeable about the city and specifically its buildings and architecture. Most of the bank buildings were abandoned and falling into disrepair, so the city offered them to 4 or 5 universities who promptly converted the buildings into classrooms and dormitories, and breathed fresh life into the city.
