We drove south Along Taconic State Parkway south to I84 then west to Tri State Area at Point Jervis where New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania all intersect. Paul had told us about this unique place where the interstate crosses the Delaware river. The key for us was a campground called Tri State RV Campground (clever name, huh?). ... we’ll be in Vermont and we hope to see their famous fall colors.

Oct. 9th

We drove through New Hampshire and down through Vermont. There was still some nice color in the hills but we realised that the best was over in this part of the country. We were probably 7-10 days too late. Maybe we’ll get lucky and see some better fall colors as we travel west.

We arrived at ...

... every aspect; no major towns and vast tracts of wooded countryside, its leaves turning sundry shades in the sunshine. Our first stop was in Williamstown, home to Williams College, an élite private liberal arts college. It looks like one of those ivy-league universities common in American films, with students sauntering about in a variety of trendy clothing, very relaxed and self-confident. We strolled down the main college shopping ...
