Business Stop

Here is the AHT building in the tiny town of Rottenmann, Austria, about halfway between Salzburg and our next stop Vienna (Wien in German).

We met with the president of AHT USA who gave us a tour of the freezer factory and discussed with us the possibility of exporting our cart business to Europe.

Later in the trip we are also trying to arrange a meeting with AHT's operations in England.
ah Vienna

oh oh oh this is the most beautiful place. We picked up big Mama our motorhome and she is very big - like a bus. No really like a bus. Graham will be driving. We drove from Munich to Vienna in about 6 hours and then slept for 11 hours. Today we went into the city by bus and train and then went on a tour in a horse drawn carriage - just the best thing. Then we had a schnitzel and next to us was a man with the best looking German Shepherd - so we have Inspector Rex on duty!! Then we walk ...

Editorial Comments / Beyond the Blog from Jake

Thoughts beyond the blog… a few random musings.

Roots

Part of the enthusiasm behind the recent trip has been to "reconnect with one's roots." This phrase, as related to a tree, is somewhat misleading. We have been (and will be) walking around in the same places that were once “home” to our ancestors. It is an interesting feeling to visit such places. Really, traveling back to one’s roots ...

Amazing Austria

... with a bbq and lots of flys and beer and stuff. haha. Went for a walk with one of my friends just round the town after dinner and then went to bed pretty early. We were staying in an huge old house. The rooms where big and the bathrooms pretty god except for the toilet which was a bit weird and just had water push everything down a hole in the front of the basin when you flushed. Bizarre! Very pretty town butpretty cold the whole time we were there!

CONTIKI - AUSTRIAN TYROL

... up with blue crystals over white light that follows you along the floor as you walk, and much more. It was very cool! Being here made me think of you mum; more bloody crystal:) We then arrived at the Hopfgarten Contiki Site, where I was a 'cookie' for the two days and helped the staff prepare and serve the food. After dinner cookies and dishies were all given shots of a local apple drink. Whilst preparing the shots I added a dash of Tabasco sauce to one of the shots. Nick then came ...

Ski bums and krazy kangaroos...St Anton

My key man does not appear so happy when i point out the largest bag for him to carry, he disappears as soon as he can probably thinking I'm gonna ask him to unload the rest of the car...but I'm done ...I collapse on my sofa a big smile spreading across my face.....

The next few months I follow a pattern of rising early, eating huge breakfasts of porridge, eggs, cheese and muesli...packing my bag with nuts and fruit, then skiing hard for the morning when the ...

Dee's day at the spa

... HOT 45-90 Celsius on the wet and starting at 90 Celsius for the dry. 20 Celsius is about 70 degrees just to give you and idea. I was wringing wet in about 2 minutes. They were also beautiful , one was peach and terra cotta with raised designs on the floor in yellow, another was blue, yellow just amazing tile work . The Jacuzzis were not hot like ours more like a warm bath but very relaxing looking at the alps while just floating. I LOVED IT. LIVVG

Spring Break: Part 3

So we all left Munich (sad) for Salzburg pretty early in the morning. We checked out of our nice hostel (we didnt know we would appreciate it so much until the next one) and carried our luggage all the way to the train. At this point I am hating the fact that I over pack every single time. I need to learn how to do a better job at this. So we get on our train, uneventful this time (thank goodness ...
