    Drove through the mysterious black forest - Schwarzwald. Rolling green hills, lush farmland, thick forests and storybook hamlets. The changeable spring weather saw periods of dark clouds and rain which only added to the beauty and atmosphere of the forest.     ... the visit to the Astronomical Clock and the climb to the top of the cathedrals bell tower was free, saving us about 25 euro. The climb to the top of the bell tower took 340 steps to the top but we all made it and were well rewarded with a nice view over the city. This cathedral has to be one of the largest, with the exception of St Peters at the Vatican, we have visited on our trip.
