We needed to get the Switzerland experience, so we went up to Mount Titlis. It was the highest mountain that we could access. Jungfrauhof & Pilatus did not have their cable cars running.
Mount Titles is in the town of Engelberg, such a lovely town & I can imagine how it would be in winter with all the accommodation packed.

We saw the Dying Lion of Lucerne Monument, crossed the Chapel Bridge and checked out some of the many watch & chocolate stores. Owen ...

... steep incline and by the time we were 20 minutes in, I was already tired and had had enough. Unfortunately we took a series of wrong turns and our hike turned into about a 2.5 hour trek over 5 miles. We all became delirious by the end of the hike and were so happy once we finally reached the gondola station. Let me just mention that our coach Steve and our host Dave both turned around about 15 minutes in to take the gondola the entire way up. The ...

... and never have to put on a rain jacket or put on hiking boots. Besides *****ing about the prices or tourists, we would usually take the local busses to the top of mountains and hike down or explore random valleys or waterfalls. We stayed in the coolest hostel ever - a set of about 20 large tents - called Balmers Tent Village. It was quite out of the way in a lush field in Wilderswil but ...
