Missed it.
... and talked as if we had known each other for years.... A very special bond was created in a couple of minutes. Thank you to family and friends for your warm wishes on my birthday. Nikki The Schmittenhof Guest house in Zell Am See has been absolutely wonderful......the room we were given had the most amazing view of the valley to the village on the lake....breakfast was terrific....the people were warm and friendly and created a real family atmosphere....a wonderful stay with wonderful ...
Not The Top Of The World
... to take photos and yell "Look at this....it is soooooo beautiful".....Well thanks to MY determination and focus we made it to the village and got our supplies...which included a very nice Austrian apricot liquor.....we cooked a nice meal.....and fell exhausted into bed by 9 o'clock.....the days exertions had made us very tired.....it had nothing to do with the liquor.....we were safe and had survived the snow....maybe we should do a survival TV show. Til next time ...
Bavaria and Tirol

Later, as we were driving back into Germany, we got pulled over by the federal German Polizai. Worried that we had broken a law, missed a signal or speeding, we pulled over quickly. Turns out they just wanted to check our papers on the car. That was interesting... I made for a good story, but my stomach sure sank!

Sunday- Monday
... br> district. Well. I did that and it was something else. They have the 'ladies of the
night' standing I shop windows. It's the funniest thing, they stand in these windows
with red lights on in their underwear and blow kisses to the men, and try to entice
them in. I suppose it's safer than walking the streets. There is also the whaft of
marijuana smoke all over, you'll walk past a cafe and get hit ...
Saturday afternoon update
... in their hand. I tell you what, Australia has a lot to learn about Internet access. The wifi in this hotel is excellent and even at the track you can get wifi around the whole place. I even caught the gondola to the top of the track today and had wifi for the whole trip. It's been great to have been able to keep in touch with home for the whole time I'm here. I've learned quite a bit about this place since I've been here. I've been wondering why there is so much green ...
