Ignoring the typical grey sky of a North German autumn we headed out to the spectacular town of Monschau which was established about 1000 years ago. On the way we passed through Holland and Belgium to reach this small German town, an experience that is incomprehensible to an Australian mindset.

So the bus ride was super long and mostly uncomfortable. But we made it to Düsseldorf! We arrived around 7am, and walked to our hostel to leave our bags. We weren't allowed to check in until 1pm, so we had to kill some time.
