    ... to the parking lot and got on the road to Salzburg, Germany.

    BTW, the Autobahn is amazing here! The rest stops are super clean, and many of them have a play area for the kids. We stopped at one of these along the way; it also had incredible views of the what our drive looked like most of the way. Now if I was only driving a vehicle that would actually go 200 kms/hour without shaking like a rattled aspen leaf :-(

    Once we finished with his boyhood home, we headed up a very steep 30-minute hike to get to his fairytale castle, Neuschwanstein! While the first castle was beautiful but not extravagant, the parts of this castle that were finished were astounding opulent!     ... t be too careful. 30,000 police were bought in from across the boarder in Germany & Italy. Once through the barriers were proceeded into the country settlement of Seefeld a beautiful place. A short walk & we boarded our buggy for a ride through the woods (1hr). So peaceful & a nice change from walking,walking,walking.     Today is the day I've been waiting for this whole trip! We visited Schwangau and saw two amazing castles: Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. These are two of the biggest tourist attractions in all of Germany. We left Salzburg just after 8 a.m. We had about a three-hour drive to Füssen, the site of tonight's hotel, and we wanted to get parked in Füssen and catch a bus to Schwangau.
